Hi there,

Does anyone that resides in or around the El Monte area know what these loud bangs are that seem to be happening more and more frequently?

Some clearly sound like fireworks, but others are loud booms and others sound like fireworks without the crackling sound you usually hear.

Last night they were so bad they set off my car alarm.

Anyway curiosity got the better of me so I thought I'd ask on here

Had them here in Santa Monica too last night. One was very loud and woke me up. Maybe it has something to do with the civil unrest...

Not sure, but it's been going on for weeks.

I don't suppose anyone knows if its possible to break a lease based on noise? If it was just me I'd put up with it till me lease expires, however, my dog is at the point where he's causing harm to himself. The issue I think I'm faced with is that the noise is not within the apartment grounds but outside somewhere, thus I can't complain about the noise?

My neighbors upstairs are like adult elephants stomping around, but again, I chose the downstairs apartment and they have kids up there so I haven't and wouldn't want to complain about them, you can't exactly tell a 2 year old to stop running around can you.

Anyway, if anyone has any tips if there are any loop holes I might be able to use I have about 6 months left on my lease
