Most likely until a budget is finalized.

Why don't you try posing the question the LAPD? Getting an answer directly from the source is generally the best way to get the real answer rather than rumor and supposition.

I DID speak with them which is how I found out about the freeze since I live in LOUISIANA. They don't know and there's so many different people on this site I figured I'd ask. Geez.

If the LAPD, the organization you to work for doesn't know when the hiring freeze will end, how in the h*ll are we suppose to know? For the safety of whatever city you are aplplying to, for the sake of public safety, please please please find another profession. You don't have enough sense to make me feel safe with you carrying a gun.

That makes me feel a little better until I remember that whether or not a criminal can be convicted often rests on the analysis of the crime lab.

You must not read...is this not a place where people can go to pose questions about places they don't know about? I could have sworn that's what I came here for...are YOU in the right place? With such a **** poor attitude I could have done without your bs.

I think most of us figured out what you were talking about nicole_bell. I don't know when the hiring freeze will be over, didn't know there was one. Maybe somebody who is a cop or knows a cop will have some insight and can help you out. Best of luck.
