I'm planning on moving to LA in October and have been thinking about renting a room share. I'm kind of a partier and beach bum, so specifically aiming for within walking distance to a fun beach so I can easily carry beer and not drive, etc. I've heard Venice/Santa Monica is pretty good for that. Most places I've looked at do have maps available. Are there any streets nearby I should try to live near or areas to avoid? Also, near beaches and also a decent bar scene would be prime real estate for me.
