Hi!

I'm hoping someone could give me a bit of advice. I just started a new job in Downtown LA - I'm actually on the corner of Figueroa & 1st, closer to Figueroa & Diamond.

I'm trying to see if anyone can suggest a parking lot around here. I saw some signs that advertise "monthly parking" - so I'm going to call and see what kind of pricing they have. But other than that, I have no ideas. I've never worked in/near Downtown LA so I had no idea parking was this bad around here.

Anyone? What am I looking at as far as pricing goes for a parking lot around here, daily/weekly/monthly?

Any ideas welcome!

Thanks!

Maria

It really depends on the area and lot. You'll just need to call around. My parking garage for my building is $37 per day. But I think there is a lot across the freeway for $5 per day. The prices are all over the place really.

And beware when you see signs that say real big $5, or whatever, because that's usually just for the first 15 minutes. Be sure that you're looking at the all-day rate.

Shop around for parking.

You also need to be sensitive to the safety of some of the areas near where you work and consider that if you work normal hours you may be walking to your car in the dark.

You might see if there is a Dash bus that would get you to a low priced parking lot if you are willing to invest the time.
