Hello everyone,
My fiance and I are planning a trip to and through Louisiana in the next year or so for our honeymoon. He was raised there, and his family resides in Denham Springs. We are going to visit them, and basically move from there down to New Orleans, and then back up through to Shreveport. I am doing some research to see where we should go, cool places to stay, and yummy places to eat along the way through. I am very interested in the culture and history (especially the haunted history), I want to soak up as much of it as I can while I'm there. We love the outdoors and horseback riding, and we love to party and shop. I would love nothing more than to bring some uniquely Louisiana things back home with me. Also, we were talking about getting married there too, so if anyone has any awesome places to get married at, I would love to hear em.

check out vermillionville or acadian village. Im not sure if they do weddings, but those are two traditional Acadian style villages located in Lafayette.

Here's a good haunted place to check out: The Myrtles Plantation It's in St. Francisville, just north of BR and not too far from Denham. But watch out, it's spooky. Boo!

I read somewhere that nobody has ever managed to stay one night in that place.

I know I haven't. Here's another gem, right across from City Park in New Orleans: Welcome to Ralph's on the Park
