Hi Everyone, so I am looking for an apartment since I am moving to KY soon. The one that someone told me about (that is only 2 min from my work) is Hunter Runs Apartments on Fox Horn Circle.. I looked on mapquest and its near St. Dennis, pleasure ridge park, and about couple miles from Dixie Hwy. Anyone know of that area? I can give more specifics also.
So is that a safe area? and does anyone know of any nicer, more luxury apartments near this area? I was looking at pics online as was not too impressed.Mostly I need safe, clean area.
the dixie highway/prp/valley station part of town has a reputation for being a little trashy and a lot redneck. a reputation that i don't think is entirely untrue. there is no way i could ever live out there, not because it's not safe (there are questionable areas as well as some ok ones) but because it's sooo damn far from all the cool things this city has to offer. if your idea of shopping is wal-mart and your idea of fine dining is applebee's, this area is perfect for you. my advice would be to look in other areas and commute. any info on what you like in a neighborhood would be helpfull.

What areas near here are nice do you think? It really doesnt matter to me where it is, as long as it is safe and clean. Somewhere trashy and with a lot of redneck is NOT where I want to live. Is there anything nice outside of 10 miles or so? Or any neighboring city that is nice that you would recommend? Doesn't need to be the most trendy and full of shopping area. I just want a nice apt in a nice, clean, safe area. Dont care what is around it.

zorn ave/clifton/crescent hills/st. matthews all would foot the bill, with maybe a ten-fifteen minute commute. the best place to live imo as well as many others opinions is hands down the highlands. it's basiaclly bardstown rd from just south of downtown to taylorsville rd. not really a lot of apt. complexes, more old historic homes turned into multi family dwellings. this is by far the most diverse area with the most shopping, dining, and an incredibly large urban park (cherokee park) at it's core. it's clean, safe and has an ultra cool vibe and i think is one of the main things that makes louisville special. you can find very reaonably priced rentals there, some are as cheap as a lot of other less-desireable areas.
upon further reflection, your commute might stretch to twenty minutes, depending on what time of day. commute times anywhere in the metro are generally not that big of a deal. i would rather live in a nice area and commute than live five minutes from my dixie hwy job.
