They dont have a free pre-k like florida does. I moved here from San Diego and I'm out of here next year. I would visit here for a couple of weeks before you move here. I was also very excited about moving here too. But once we got here it wasnt as great as people made it seem. Good luck. I hope you love the snow. (the novelty of it will wear off real fast.)

You have some wonderful options! My fiance and I will be newbies to Louisville soon, too! He's been there quite a bit and I've been there twice. Your husband's new job is pretty much in the middle of where you want to be as far as finding a home. There's a great price range so you should be able to find something. If you're looking to buy, Semonin.com is a nice site. For rentals Craigslist.com has tons of rentals meeting your criteria for less than $1,000. Here's a search I created for single family homes (no apartments) - just copy everything within the red URL tags:

Louisville is absolutely beautiful with a wide range of things to do... Bardstown Road is fun, the Summit is a fantastic place to shop, there are countless restaurants and quite a lot of parks and events to take the kids. The people are very nice and everything is within a few minutes' drive.
I lived in FL, too... for 8 years (very, very long years...
). I moved back up north 6 years ago and reconnected with my H.S. sweetheart. We're looking forward to living in this great town! We're looking in the area north of 64 within the Watterson (264), but also looking within the Snyder (265) north of 64 as well as Cherokee Triangle, Prospect and Crestwood.

Hey, are you from the DC area Southern MD (Calvert, PG, or Charles County)? I'm a recent escapee of the DC area and liking Kentucky so far albeit I'm a distance from Louisville proper (around Ft. Knox.)
Oh yeah, please don't tell any other DC area folks about the Ville.

wow. that just shows why I'm moving. People are just rude here. I was so excited to move here before I did than I relized how mean people are and how they could care less about other people. I cant wait to get out of here.
