Best case: They'll start 4-0, then lose 5 straight, and finish with wins against KU, OSU (upset), and Baylor.

Worst case: They start 3-0, lose 6 straight, beat KU, and then close out season with 2 losses vs. OSU, Baylor.

I saw an interview recently where Tuberville was talking about where they needed to focus on the defense this season. This isn't the SEC. All this focus on the defense is not helping, and it's coming at the expense of the offense. I see a 6- or 7-win season.

I also hate how he is talking about defense not only is it boring for us fans to watch but it's not what Tech football is all about. It's about out scoring the other team in a shoot out lol I miss coach Leach

Raise your hand if you thought that the 2011 Tech defense was good. I would rather he spend his time almost exclusively on the defense, and let Neal Brown, Sonny Cumbie, Chad Scott, Thomsen, Mainord, and the players concentrate on the O.

That said, all responses are appreciated, even if I disagree. Keep 'em coming.

I voted 7 wins for this season. I think they'll win the first three games, they'll probably beat West Virginia and Kansas (both home games), and maybe even upset Iowa State on the road. I think there's at least a decent chance they might beat Baylor in Jerry World this time. All of this is of course based on the hope that Tech's defense has improved. Last year's defense was probably the worst I've ever seen as a Tech alumnus and fan, it was simply awful! (as noted above in the link, 115th out of 120)

Here's something: You don't have to focus on defense OR offense, you have individual coordinators and coaching staffs for BOTH!

There's no reason you can't concentrate on BOTH the defense and offense EVERY season!!! Sure, the Big 12 is a more offensive league, but a good defense will buy you some wins and ultimately win you the championship. Coach Leach's problem (and why he never won the Big 12) was that he always ignored the defense. Tuberville has a problem with building an offense.
