How in the world can you justify trying to put that crook C Jack Ellis back in office?

Were you paid to vote for him? Because for the life of me, I cannot comprehend why any educated human being would vote for someone who put out beautiful city into a deficit, wasted taxpayers money on trips to Africa, supported Chavez, became a Muslim on our dime, and then stole money & paintings from his office on the way out!

Somebody help me understand.

Im from WR.I have lived in Atlanta on and off since high school.
Did Jack Ellis get charged for any of this stuff you said?I just want to know because it is interesting.
Why is Reinhardt not doing better is the other question?

Also I do take issue with your wording "became a muslim on our dime" Did not know religious affiliation was a precursor to running for office. After all...this is America.Supposed land of the free.Time we start acting like we believe it.

We voted yesterday and now there will be a run-off. Reichert had to get 50% +1 vote. He missed by 151 votes. So we are practically dead even.

The only good thing is that Sam Hart is friends with Reichert, so hopefully his constituents will get behind Reichert and not Ellis.

Georgia was ranked twice in the last year, both by independent research firms. First as the most unethical state; has the least ethics laws, second as the most corrupt state in the US. Our governor was investigated 5 times while in Congress and was forced to retire from his post because of the investigations. He is now being investigated because of giving money to a relative that was campaign money; just hired Chip Rogers to a job at GPB to be a broadcaster for them with no experience and at a salary that is twice what any other employee there makes @ 150K a year as a political favor. Mr. Rogers has been there 8 months with no activity and still collecting his salary off the taxpayer dime. The good ol boy system is alive and well here.

Look, you summed up the problem with the assumption of "educated people". I would bet that of the citizens who don't receive public assistance that Ellis received fewer than 1000 votes. My opinion is if you aren't bright enough to figure out how to feed your kids without government aid then you probably aren't bright enough to make a good choice in the election booth. Basically, the uneducated black people of Bibb voted Ellis and that is it. The black leaders of the old guard (read...pastors of black baptist churches) still see race as the primary motivator and encourage their flocks to do the same...vote black first...character second.

It is the same reason that Elaine Lucas will win east Macon until her dying day. The saga in Macon on this is getting old...this is the reason that we lost millions to the crooked former superintendent. The only solace I take is knowing that younger citizens of all races don't share the race baited mantra and the older ones are slowly losing ground...too slowly, but it is happening. 10 years ago consolidation wouldn't have passed and that is the only thing saving us from C Jack.

The upside is that all of the Bishop voters will go Reichert in the runoff and most of the Hart voters as well so as long as people show up it should be at least a 60-40 win for Reichert. Of course showing up in a runoff is tough for some.

Consolidation is the only reason Ellis isn't mayor again and it will be the reason he will lose in 4 weeks. His base doesnt live in the county in large numbers.

Liberals will vote for Democrats - even if they are ax murderers. The "D" next to a name is all they care about.

Get your head out. I am a Democrat & I voted for Reichert because he was already doing a good job.
