I should have clarified my remarks. I meant to say to downtown development. I still believe Savannah is a solid number two after Savannah, but Augusta and Macon are both tied for third when it comes to downtown development. Either way I believe Macon, Augusta and Savannah have very bright futures.
This would be a fantastic addition to downtown if it happens. There is a need for the apartments. The hotel could easily work with fewer than 200 rooms. The location is good next to an improving Poplar. I think this could work beautifully.
Face it, Nortie: Savannah has come into its own -- and beats out every GA city in development projects except Atlanta. (It didn't 25 years ago, but definitely does now.) If Macon and Augusta is doing well, then Savannah is booming. The Augusta Chronicle itself runs a number of articles about plans in the City by the Sea, as does the Atlanta Journal-Const. These are exciting times.
This is really great news for Macon and I hope to see more development in the future, especially in their downtown area. I'm glad to see Macon coming back and seeing development again. As for developments, Macon is just starting to see more, Augusta is doing better, and Savannah is doing the best out of these and is growing at a very good pace, but not at the point of booming yet.

I don't see how Augusta is 'doing well' and Savannah is 'booming'. None of the people giving their opinions are offering any facts to back them up.
The Augusta Chronicle doesn't run a number of articles about every plan in Augusta.

The Mox facility is only 60% complete and they've spend $4.4 billion...
