Default It'd official - Madison city council has gone insane.

This is a classic! In the middle of one of the coldest winters in decades on top of it. You gotta love these guys for pure entertainment.

Liberal Wisconsin capital would limit development, tree removal, fast food restaurants and parking to promote 'sustainability.

So what do others think?

You'll notice that they said "climate change", not "global warming". It's been pretty well accepted for a while now by climate scientists that the greater amount of energy being dumped into the atmosphere doesn't lead to higher temperatures everywhere--higher temps in some places, more storms in others, droughts in others (the city had record rains over the last two summers, and the record snows last winter, and two or three summers of drought conditions before that).

There's so little detail in that headline that I don't have much to form an opinion about (except to think that it's a useful exercise to consider more than short-term gains), but "It's cold outside! Where's this global warming I hear so much about lolz" is one of my peeves.

Not sure I believe it's a realiable source or care. The opinion that we have little blue-collar workers for one, is a myth. Who do they think does all the service type jobs around here?

Just because something is proposed doesn't mean it will ever pass.

FWIW, the article made the front page of The Drudge Report. That's bound to attract attention.

Somebody's got to be an adult.

Great idea.

What's the drudge report? Regardless, it doesn't seem very newsworthy in my opinion.

The Drudge Report is this huge "underground" conspiracy theory site. Really a bunch of self important people who sit glued to their computers scouring the internet for stories that support their world view.

Oh, and I say this as someone who *is* extremely liberal, just in case anyone thinks I'm some hard core lefty who doesn't like their little world threatened by "THE TRUTH".
