My mums been offered a job in Madison and doesnt know if she should take it.
We moved from Australia to Dundee, Scotland 2 years ago
I've never been to America but have always wanted to go.
I'm wanting as much info as possible about the area.
We need to be pretty convinced before we make a trip over there to check it out.

If you are or know someone around my age that lives in the area it would be really helpful if i could ask you some questions, but general info about the best schools etc would also be very helpful

First, you would need to determine what type of sponsorship visas you would need in order to work in the US. It is a friendly city and is of moderate size. The winters will be cold, and the summers briefly hot. There is the large University of Wisconsin on the near west side of town, and the state capitol in the middle. The city is very progressive and has good schools. There are quite a lot of bicycle paths and parks to enjoy. There also are several large lakes in the area which are quite beautiful. The city has several shopping malls and grocery stores spread out throughout the city.

The two best public high schools in Madison are West and Memorial. Arguably the best suburban high school is Middleton. Edgewood is a good option if you're interested in a Catholic high school.

You would not regret moving and living in Madison. Great place to work, raise a family, etc. Win, Win, Win. If you don't like snow and cold winter - maybe not. The winter's are great. Get involved in the winter activities and enjoy the beauty. Best of luck. Patrick 828-213-7739

Too broad of a question...if descriptions of the city are all you want, there are tons of threads here already. If you have any specific questions myself and other readers here would be glad to answer, but summing up Madison in a paragraph or two without any frame of reference when it comes to what you're looking for and what you want to know would be pretty difficult.

I see the OP (CRABE145) is a new poster.
If you put MADISON in the 'Search" above, you can sit back and read an entire novel of info.
Good Luck to you with your move .
