Seems like it's not really worth it anymore, or rather the service has really went downhill the last 2 years. Has anyone else noticed this? Seems we get most things in 3-4 days now. I don't think I will renew this year. I know if they tell me it will be here in 2 days and it's not, and one complains they credit the account, however now they just tell me its going to be here in 4 days.

That has not been my experience. In fact, I am amazed at the number of products that now have 1-day shipping.

If this wasn't a Maine specific question, I still use Prime all of the time. Cheaper to have UPS drop at my doorstep than me go into town to pick stuff up. Got a few things before I was supposed to. Still seems funny to see a USPS truck pull up to the house on a Sunday.

Yes I've noticed that there 2 day shipping has become 3 or 4 day shipping recently.

Isn't worth to me so I do not use it. If everything was 2 day shipping and free, it might be worth it to me, but only about half the items I buy are prime eligible. The other half I would have to pay extra for.

Almost everything we have bought from Amazon arrives within 2 days anyway. Once in awhile something takes a long time, but we are aware of that in checkout. To me- it is not worth it, although I have friends that swear by it.

Amazon does not have a warehouse in Maine. That is good because it means Amazon doesn't collect sales tax on our orders (since they don't "operate in this state"), but it also means that the nearest warehouse is in Boston (Stoughton, to be precise), so everything has to go there before coming up here. Even items that originate from New Hampshire or even Maine have to go down to Boston before being brought back up to Maine.

In this thread I've noticed the people posting that "they always get their order within 2-days" have locations of "North of Boston" and "VA", so they are much closer to the distribution centers.

Here in Portland we typically get everything within 2-days since this area is one of their main stops (day 1: item sent to Boston, day 2: Boston to Portland), but I can see how it might take an extra day or two to get things to cities further north where there isn't a direct stop (OP's location says "Mid Coast", so maybe your package is day 1: item sent to Boston, day 2: Boston to Augusta or maybe even Bangor?, day 3: Augusta/Bangor to your town)

My husband has a prime account and he seems to like it. No issues so far but he has had it only about 8 months or so.

One other thing to keep in mind is that vendors that sell on Amazon but fulfill the orders themselves do not have to participate fully in Prime. Amazon offer self fulfillers a regional option of how far they will ship under Prime.

Also, I don't think items always go from Nashua to Stoughton and then up to Maine. I've gotten items directly from Nashua.
