The greatest things that has ever happened to me was meeting and marrying my husband (15 years and going strong!) and having my 2 beautiful daughters. Also, getting my U.S. citizenship 8 years ago. Being sworn in by a judge in a courtroom crowded with people from all over the world was one of the most emotional things I've ever gone through. It was a moment I'll never forget!
That's wonderful!!!!! I bet it was very emotional for you. Congratulations!!
Being with my husband is the greatest accumulation of moments in my life. But, the single most perfect moment in my life was 24 hours after my daughter (then 7 days old) had had heart surgery. This was the "we'll know if it worked for sure" moment. My life is full of miracles and moments of poignant beauty but nothing surpasses knowing your child will live when death has come so close to them.

There is a new england tomb stone epitaph that came to mind when I read your account of your daughters heart surgery. "It is a fearsome thing to love that which death can touch"

Sitting in class today; the windows were open and I got to hear the sounds of the ocean gently breaking onto tiny Willard Beach--it was a perfect match for the type of weather that we had today. Totally awesome!
WOW! I envy you! Someday my "ship" will come in and I'll be listening to the ocean too!!!!
