(1) Is social distancing possible on the shuttle to Mt Kineo? I see they allow 10 people per trip, but I don't know how big the boat is.

(2) I'm planning on avoiding Millinocket during an upcoming trip to Moosehead and the surrounding area. Will be well stocked with gloves and masks, but I plan to have almost no contact with people (10-day camping trip). Anything I should know besides what's going on in Millinocket? (I am not from a state that requires quarantine upon arrival in Maine.

Be wary if you are traveling through York County as well. The Millinocket wedding outbreak has spread there.

I was in Millinocket a couple of times over the weekend. Life goes on. Everyone at the gas pumps and store wore masks. There were a lot of cars parked along the dirt road in front of the Inn where that mess started but there weren't a lot of people in sight.

Be cautious wherever you go, just common sense. The difference between Millinocket and other areas is that you know about the outbreak there. You could walk into a "safe" area and contract the virus.

The leaves are starting to change. The weather at Rippogenus and Frost Pond was fantastic. Warm sunshine, cool nights by the fire pit. Enjoy your trip!

In case anyone else is wondering about the shuttle, I phoned them and the answer is no, it's not possible to maintain a 6' distance from other passengers due to the size of the boat. You would be about 3' from passengers. Guess I'll try again next year.
