Hello to all my friends out there! I will be in Brunswick on June 30th!! YAY!! (It's about time, huh?) I am taking a leave of absence from my job to head on up and take the first steps in starting over. I'm scared, but I remember that "Deep Thought" someone posted, about when you come to the end of the light and have to step off into the darkness, God will either give you a ledge to stand on or wings to fly.

On Tuesday, April 29, I joined the C/D board in order to get advice on how to make the transition to Maine, so that I could be closer to my parents. You were all so helpful and kind to me, with suggestions on where to look for jobs, rental housing, etc. I think God was looking out for me, and knew I would very soon not only need support from people where I live now, but also from people in the place where I was planning on going.

On Friday, May 2, at 5:30 pm, a detective knocked on my door and told me that my partner of six years had died in a fishing accident, and that his body had been pulled from the river that afternoon. And then everything in my life just went to heck.

After that, I found myself visiting the board for a different reason: to find a little comfort, a word of wisdom, or a bit of humor. I want to thank you for all of the friendship, kindness, and encouragement you have given to me over the past few weeks, a newcomer to your boards. I have enjoyed reading your posts and have come to know a little bit about each of you from what you have written, and have made some new friends! I am really glad to be joining you very soon. I will be in transition in a couple of weeks, but I will stay in touch with all of you, who have been so helpful to me.

Our beloved house by the brook has been rented out to a new couple. As much as it pains me to have to leave, I can't stay in that house any more, and I don't want to stay here in this town any more. Too many memories.

So y'all get ready, because here I come!! (and that's an end to the mushy stuff too, I promise!)

Good luck with the move! It's the right time of year to be doing it. Look into the base housing around BNAS. It's closing and you may be able to pick up a bargain!
