the woodpeckers are tapping on the trees on my property ... a little early here especially since there is still 17" of snow on the ground - waiting for it to melt

The owls are vocalizing a lot. They're starting by late afternoon here. It's the beginning of their mating season (not early).

Same here. Smelled like spring in the yard here. Plus it looks like mud season in my driveway. Sure sign.

Saw 2 blue jays trying to find food in our neighbor's gutter...

My car is actually staying clean after going to the carwash last week. It no longer looks like a giant salt lick...

tcrackly wonders, "?"

I have yet to see bluejays about, so I might guess that the 2 jays would be a sign o' spring. And that the car hasn't looked like "a giant salt lick" (very funny, by the way ) says to me that there hasn't been a wintry weather event to precipitate (ha) the need for sanding & salting the roads.

LOL, thanks for translating my post, Maureen! I guess I should have been clearer. I'm glad you got what I was trying to say! You're right, these were the first bluejays of the season for me. And my car was just a mess since I didn't wash it all season knowing that it would just get filthy again right away. Now, it's actually staying clean!
