My husband may have to relocate to live between Philly & Baltimore, that area. We live in NJ at present. will we find a house in a safe area, rural but near a nice town for about $250K or less? haha I know!
any suggestions would be welcome.....

Depends what your requirements are (house/land size, commute to where, schools, etc).
Oxford Pa area, Cecil/Harford County MD is probably where you should look. You could possibly get a rural SFH in any of those places on your budget, but probably Oxford will be the most bang for the buck in housing. Don't know too much about Delaware, so can't offer any suggestions.

I would go with De: great schools (Appo), reasonable priced houses, low taxes, and a great area.

I do love my new house a lot. No way could we have afforded this house with the taxes in Md. That being said I also really like the area of Bel Air. It is a nice area, just pricey. If money was not an issue I would have gone to Bel Air, but money is always an issue.

I left MD 2 years ago and if I was to ever move back north it would be to DE. If you have the chance to live in DE out of the 3 areas, take it!
