B G & E is killing me. I can not believe they are charging so much for electricity. 10.68 cents a kw. I think we are the third highest in the nation. I have around 1000 sq. My bill is 465 for one month, I ran some Christmas lights but this is insane, just over the top and its going to kill me. Any one else feel like this? They have quite a coverage range, I feel like moving out of their reach.

I do the budget billing at $285 a month for about 1,500 sq ft. I've usually had a credit at the end of the year. I think this year might be different though. They didn't raise my budget billing when they had that big hike in rates this year.

There is another post on the Maryland forum about BGE. There might be some helpful tips on there, and you can find out what other people are paying.

$500 for a 1k sq ft sounds not right..do you have yr heat running 24/7 at 80F?
Do you have all the lights on 24/7 too?
Christmas lights dont draw that much of energy...

I know I keep telling them to do an investigation and this time I just got the letter back saying it is actual usage. I think my meter is messed up. I am afraid to run the heat pump furnace, I have 2 micathermic space heaters, they work great until the temps hit below 20 degrees. I got to find the other thread to read that now.

Call the public service commission and see if u can speak to someone in regards to having your meter checked. I mean someone might be "borrowing" your electric.
