Hi, I just moved to Maryland from NY and am looking for an apartment or house share situation, but all I can find is way out of my budget. I have a budget of about 600-750 a month. I know this is low, but is there anything out there that I can afford. I have thinking about giving up on living close to my job, in Annapolis, and moving farther away for a better price. I hate to drive and would love some advice on where to find good priced housing.

On Craigslist, there are studio apartments in Baltimore's Mount Vernon area for $725. It's a great area for a young person, but you would have a longish drive to Annapolis. There's another in Bolton Hill for $695. You would probably have to pay additional to park your car.

Craigslist also has a garage apartment in Pasadena for $750. If it's still available, that would be closer to Annapolis. There's another in Glen Burnie for $710. It's also not bad for starting out.

Have you talked with the people you work with? Sometimes word of mouth is the best way to find something (and you WILL def. have to have roommates)
