Being a native son of Delmarva has naturally made me familiar with parts of rural waterman/swampbilly ( ) Maryland , like Elliott in Dorchester County and Gilpin Point in Caroline County , however it's been a long time since I've been to those parts/not to mention that I never ventured all that far from my Sussex County stomping ground during my youth ...

Which naturally arises my curiosity with respect to which parts of present day MD are the main hotbeds for waterman/swamp folk culture , where oystering and crabbing are commonplace along with bars that have jukeboxes with an equal split of Waylon Jennings and Deep Purple , where you can also meet crusty old geezers that can/will sell you a quart of swamp brew if you get to know them well enough .

P.S. I'll naturally concede that the description I used above may very well never have been apt for a good chunk of Delmarva , nevertheless I couldn't come up with better adjectives to describe the undeniably free wheeling pirate inspired irreverent yet good hearted outlaw spirit of true blue Delmarva folk .

Imagine reading Swamp Thing comics in the early 70's as a little kid. I remember looking at those comics and saying to myself as a 6 year old "What is this?" It mesmerized me.

Okay, but to swamp Maryland........
