perhaps get 2 accounts.
wachovia/wells fargo would be good when i travel to socal.

i've seen ads for tower federal credit union.
what about secu?
right now I'm unemployed.

SECU is MD's largest state chartered CU - its also top 50 in the nation in terms of asset size.
But both will work. I guess which ever one is more convenient for you.

You have to be affiliated with the following organizations to be a member of Tower:

Tower Federal Credit Union - Field of Membership (http://www.towerfcu.org/site/HP_Field_of_Membership.html - broken link)

Tower's branches are only found in central maryland, however they have free ATMs at any 7-11.
