Does anyone know of any summer camps that are still hiring in MD for the summer? I have been trying to get a position for years and everyone tells me that returning applicants take all the spots. I am a new teacher looking for a summer job, any insight would be appreciated

Shelly - try Jemicy School. It's a school for dyslexic kids and they train teachers to work one-on-one with kids with language learning differences at their summer camp. I was a teacher in Baltimroe county and I worked at Camp Jemicy in the summer. I did it so long that I eventually became the camp director. I was always looking for teachers to fill the spots. Actually, there are 2 camps, one for the younger kids (i.e. 1st-4th grade kids) and one for older kids. It was a great training ground for me. I eventually quit my Balt county job and went to work fulltime there. GOod luck!
