When i lived in NC we had a home decorations store called Garden Ridge. They sold canvas art, prints, posters, mirrors and the like - very cheap. Is there a similar store here in Mass (within 50 mi of boston) ?

For wall art I would check Kohls, Target, Christmas Tree Shops, TJ Maxx/Home Goods, Big Lots, etc. For paintings watch for art shows in the newspaper.

Start on the Street happens three times a year in Worcester and is a gigantic art festival. You just missed the winter edition this past weekend actually.

Hi. I do not know what TJ/Marshalls did with their art, but they are completely devoid of any during Christmas period. I ended up finding a whole world of chine art/sweat shops online - overstockart.com (and many, many others). This particular site seems to do the importing themselves and redistributing from Kansas. I was not brave enough to put a direct order to CN based domain

I ordered a few famous reproductions, copies done by hand in oil. Now I am hoping I don't "get what I paid for"

One painting I ordered un-mounted. I now need to find a way to stretch it, myself if I have to. Are there other art supply stores besides AC Moore and Michaels? I used to live close to Hobby Lobby in Charlotte. Did not see HL here, however. Also, does anyone know a shop that will do canvas stretching and framing inexpensively?
By "inexpensively" I mean - cheaper than what I paid for the actual painting

The Harvard Coop used to have the best selection around. Is that a thing of the past?

Do you have Kirklands up there? I love Kirklands in NC. I did most of my house with that store. I will be finishing up this winter.

Kirkland is everywhere in the country, except here. That would have been a good spot.

I like Home Goods. They are owned by TJX which also owns Marshalls. I've noticed less and less in home decors at those stores so wondering if they are phasing that stuff out and moving it exclusively to Home Goods. I also like Pier 1 imports. I buy alot from overstock, amazon, the foundary and onekingslane- the latter 2 are my new favorite websites. I recently purchased a mirror from a website for a bargain price. MSR was $600, most sites sold it for $360-$440 but I got it for $308 with shipping. Before you order anything, check for online coupon codes and don't hesitate to call the site directly and ask if they will honor competitors prices and deals. Some will do that + give an additional 10% off.
