Hello, I'm living in Virginia and I am a high school junior currently. Next year I'll be a senior and I wanted to finish my high school up in MA and go to college there as well. If I got an apartment (with my parents co-signing of course) and put that as an address where I live is it possible to go to a school in MA? And if not are there any other ways? Thanks for any help.

Have you talked to your parents about this? Will you be 18? If not, I'm not sure if that's legal. And what would your budget be? Are you looking to establish residency for in state rates somewhere?

My parents are fine with it as long as I'm in a decent area. I'm won't be 18 until february but I think it is ok as long as they co-sign. The budget is about $20,000 a year so I was thinking of looking on craigslist for a cheaper place to stay, maybe a room instead of an apartment.

That's kind of a weird post history you have there, Eddie. Which is it? MA? Toronto? San Deigo? Santa Monica? A homeless shelter in LA?

I can understand wanting to go to college in the state (differences of in state and out of state for tuition are quite high) but why would it be so important to go for senior year of high school? Senior year goes by pretty fast.
The Associated Press: School residency arrests raise fairness questions
Schools are clamping down on it due to budget cuts.
It's worth to get residency to get a state rate on tuition for higher education, but I'm not sure if it's that bright of an idea to try to sneak into senior year.

High school wasn't my favorite. I was in school in VA and then came to MA for college, been here ever since. I wouldn't have rushed it even if I had the means to. Why don't you want to play out your senior year where you are?
