OK, if you want to drive 55 or 65, fine....just don't force me to as well. Move over when you are in the left land with nobody in front of you for a mile and cars are piling in behind you....just move the heck over. Get out of the passing lane. Look in your rear view mirror once in a while. Other people have places to go. You don't own the road any more than any one else. The left lane is for passing. Yah, I go 75, let me worry about that. And frankly, if I am in the 'passing' lane going 80 and someone comes up behind me and want to pass, I just move over, tip my cap and let them by. No biggie.

Yeah, well, if I'm speeding in the passing lane and someone wants to go faster than my speeding, I can't necessarily get over fast enough to suit the speed demon (who likely is tailgating a high rate of speed). Said demon often jumps to the right lane to show his/her aggrivation. I might well be passing a lot of traffic in the right if I'm speeding on the left. If you want to do 100 to my 75, I say too bad.

While we're making useless threads that have nothing to do with this forum, I like the spazzballs in rush hour traffic every day who don't like it when you dont jam the gas fast enough for them only to jam the brakes in 5 seconds, so they floor it and pass you on the right to get in front of you, then jam their brakes because the 3000 cars in front of them just slowed down.

We could all save ourselves the time and just read one of the other "The left lane is for passing" discussions linked under "Similar Threads." Looks like a good 35 pages of material.

Why aren't the cops writing tickets for "impeding traffic"?

All I will say is that I don't do that, BUT, if you come barreling up on me, and ride my bumper, I'm much less likely to move over. If that sounds like your MO, that might be why you're having a problem.

You are supposed to move over before anyone gets close to your bumper.

Doesn't work that way with some of the nuts on the road, zig zagging thru heavy traffic on 128.

The idea that the left lane is for passing is old. There are simply too many cars on the road today, and the left lane has to be utilized. We still have people driving in the break down lane because of lane over-crowding. It seems this thread was discussed before...
