How are the Newburyport Schools now? Are there options for independent private schools in the area? My husband and I plus three young kids are moving to the Boston area and love Newburyport. We don't need to contend with a commute as we work from home. We are still on the fence about public vs. private at this point. I know Newburyport has had issues in the past. Any one know the current situation? Thanks.

I know there is a Catholic school called Immaculate Conception in Newburyport but don't know too much about it, though it does have good reviews on greatschools. Logistically it seems as though it is stuck between Central Catholic, St. Thomas Aquinas, and St. Johns Prep, none of which are very close.
