Can someone please recommend a trust worthy, skilled car mechanic? Just had new rotors put on before our trip but now one or more is "warped"? Please let me know asap as we need to get this done, especially before it snows or rains!! We are in Concord. Thanks! Oh, we have a Jeep Grand Cherokee 2000.

Hi Puffle,

Try Sean at All Weather Auto on Rt 85 in Southboro. It's a bit far but I totally trust him and he's saved me money on my car several x's.

Best of luck!

Wayside Auto, just over the Littleton line with Westford on Rt. 110. Owner is Fuzzy Carr. He's not the cheapest, but he and his guys are aces.

Try this place. They have several good reviews on the cartalk.com site. Anyway, having your brake rotor turned or replaced is a simple job.

Try Walt at J&K on main street Hudson, I've been going there for over 20 years. Great guy, honest and dependable. He spent three days finding a fault on my car, found it was a $2 fuse that was just nearly gone but not gone enough to show up as dead (hairline crack that would seal and refracture) and charged be $4 including labor. 978-562-6901

Hmm, I've been over at J&K once. I got there, parked, and sat around, then walked around, tried flagging down someone in the garage, walked around some more... ignored for 15 min, so I went another few blocks to the Mobil. I think J&K only likes "local folk".

I've had good experiences w/2 mechanics here, but they are very far from you (in Berlin and Allston) so I won't even bother since you got a few recommendations already.

Parsec, I think your comments are unfair, maybe a one off problem, and who hasn't had those, but don't denigrate unfairly with your locals only comment. And for the record, I went there on anothers recommendation and I still travel 20 minutes to get there - eg I'm NOT local.

pondhopper - Relax! It's not a contest. There is no prize given to the person suggesting the garage that puffle finally uses. It's an open discussion and everyone is entitled to make their observations. There is also plenty of auto repair business to go around. I hope that my suggestion works out because she lives in West Concord also. Even the best garages have off days with their customer service. Ideally, our cars would never need work.
