We are planning to buy a single family home close to the ocean. One of the towns we were considering was Marshfield and in particular, we have seen some nice homes on Ocean Street/Brant Rock area which are right on the water. However, we were planning to use this as a primary residence and wanted to get some thoughts from folks who are familiar with the neighborhood on whether it's mainly occupied by summer dwellers or are there a lot of families who live year around in that area ? We have a 3 year old and overall the school system seems ok based on what I read but is Brant Rock a family/kid friendly all year round neighborhood?

Also, does Ocean Street get flooded during bad storms . The homes we are looking at are right on the water but situated just before the Union Chapel area . They are roughly near the intersection of Ocean St and Samoset Avenue. Is it fair to say that there is a good chance of roads and homes at risk of flooding in the area during bad winter storms and in the event of a hurricane .

Appreciate any feedback or thoughts on this.

Thanks.

Lots of videos on Youtube show blizzard/hurricane flooding in that area of Marshfield.

We have a family cottage there, it seems to be increasingly becoming year round residences but remains mostly cottages IMO.

The quaint cottages of yesteryear are increasingly being torn down and replaced.
