I knew I liked Sudbury--if only I could afford it!
Why? That chain is horrible now. Back in the day, they had delicious donuts and good everything else. Some time in the early 2000s they adopted the "lowest common denominator" strategy that has been a business success for Dunkin Donuts, not realizing they didn't have the size and name recognition needed to make that work.
At least some of the newer Dunkins are clean and somewhat cozy. Every Honey Dew I've been in is filthy.
I go to one I think in Stoughton, and it's newly remodeled and seems very clean, the people working there are very friendly. I prefer their bagels to DD, which I know doesn't say much, but their Jalapeno Cheddar bagel is pretty good. They had a REALLLLLLY good butter rum muffin (which probably had 2000 calories in it.) They also had a very good red velvet muffin. Much better muffins than DD but I try to avoid them bc they have got to be extremely unhealthy. Only minus is there is no drive through and slightly out of my way.
Hopefully yours is clean like mine too! If the butter rum muffin comes back, I really recommend you stop in. I actually sent my husband out to buy them as one of the sides while hosting a brunch.
Man... in Wellesley we have FIVE Dunkin' Donuts. What a cesspool...
Those Dunkin' Donuts are the only thing tethering Wellesley to the rest of society. Walking around with a DD cup lets them pretend that they're just red-blooded, hardworking folk. Sudbury's just going for the same vibe.
