you cannot get a 1 bedroom with rooftop pool, garage, fitness center in the heart of a beautiful downtown for 2k in Eastern MA.

I just said the same thing. If you want all that and a possible 1.5 hour daily commute for under 2k this is it. I personally would get a place without those amenities and live in the city of which I work. I am also guessing these places come with other monthly fees?

I thought you were saying it was too expensive. My bad.

Brand new building in the heart of downtown providence with those features, likely on your way to a high paying job and you can read or sleep on your commute in (because the train wont be crowded at Providence)? Sounds solid to me...

2k will get you a bleh 2 bedroom in the hood/around the hood in Dorchester or Roxbury or Eastie. You just have a 45 minute commute instead of a more comfortable 80 minute commute.

We are both speaking in theory here. Of course you will need to add time to your job from whichever station you get dropped off at. For me personally the jackpot would be finding a decent paying job in Providence. I probably still wouldn't live in a place that had all those amenities. I would rather cheaper rent and seek the the things i needed for leisure outside of my living and work space.

I'd rather just live and work in Providence.

I took the train from S Attleboro for a year not that long ago. This stop is less than ten minutes from Providence. S Attleboro to Back Bay took about 50 minutes on the express train that left at 7:25am. This train only makes 3 stops between Providence and Back Bay (S Attleboro/Attleboro/Mansfield).

I had a friend who tried that.. the providence line was not what it said it was. He ended up quitting his Boston job, it was that hard on him. But there are some good deals in Rhode Island. I mean if you just live over the line you can take a few of the commuter rail lines if you are willing to drive a little ways.
