Hi everybody! I would like to ask where can we buy a fresh fish right from he ocean? We are living in Pukalani.

How fresh?

You can special order stuff from Mana foods, I have seen fisherman sell it near harbor lights condos...

A few years back you could just go down to the harbor when the boats came in. Before that (20 years ago?) you could do pretty well with just a 12 pack.

Depends on what you want. The local filipino stores will have local akule, aku, ahi, uhu, and sometimes paka/onaga/uku/hapuupuu. The other items are flown in. Most fishermen will take snappers/ono/mahi/ahi straight to Mama's as they pay the best /lb/price for it. The rest will drop off to a few other wholesalers/retailers like Oki's which is located inside of Foodland Kahului right by the Queen Kaahumanu shopping center.

As someone mentioned prior you'll see some fishermen here and there around Kihei or Kahului/Wailuku sell their ahi/aku/opelu/akule at their house and have street signs up.

Perhaps hang out by the boat ramp and coerce a fisherman to let you aboard there boat to catch a fish.

Or grab a pole and toss a line out.
