I would get the CEL looked at. It could be just a sensor failing. That happens sometimes. The Miata is overall a very reliable vehicle and I suspect you just have been unlucky.
It is a fun car and I think it has the best manual transmission/clutch I have ever driven.
Trade it in for a $25k C6 Corvette. Lots of problems solved.
Exactly!
Seriously though sounds like some routine stuff and a freak accident.
I see alot of people get a car with like $70-100k on it, and get surprised that wear and tear items are going out.
I also get surprised when people have a car with like 150k, and had just dumped $1k into AC, and like $500 on tires, then get surprised that something major like the transmission went out, they just put $1500 into the car! Even though its completely unrelated to the other components.
There are different kind's of fast. Any fool can run a fast 1/4 mile when you have 400hp. There is a reason why the Miata is one of the cars of choice for road racing, and auto-x. For the money its hard to beat.
Thanks for the objective viewpoints. Will post tomorrow pm what the CEL was about. I thought that I might be having a little emotional response that's why I posted. I am though getting tired of having the car every month with something new to be corrected. It may be that I just want a newer vehicle. The CEL will be the acid test I think.
Rotors and brakes? Seriously? That's like getting rid of a car because it needed an oil change or a set of new tires.
Control arm means the car was probably driven hard, which is typical for a car like a Miata. It's either bought by a hair dresser because it's cute or someone who actually drives it. Thermostat isn't a major issue on a 6-7 year old car. Sucks, but thinks happen. See what the CEL is and go from there.

I get that. Seriously. But each month it is something new. Thinking of getting this CEL taken care of and looking for a newer one. This vehicle has had an atypical history so far and yes therm and brakes typical but coming at me each time I turn on the key....yes investment is there but confidence is waning....
Some of all that is perfectly expected and some of it is plain weird.. Even with the suspension issue being explainable and all there still seems to be some bad voodoo with the combination of you with THAT car... Just me personally, I've lived through and watched way too many friends spend WAY too much time and $$ with a car, street or race that just never stopped having SOME kind of "drama".. small or large, but always "there", always nigling.. Always one too many issues to work though. Some relationships just were'nt meant to be...
IF you've gotten that feeling at all during your time with THAT miata.. move on.. If it's just been those couple normal wear and tear items you mentioned, AND you feel comfortable with the context of that suspension issue you had, then you should have no problems keeping and enjoying her.. Only you can know for yourself for sure.
