How would you rate the Memphis dating scene?

I'm not in it, but past experiences, and from what I hear from every friend I have...it's bad. Not exactly sure why...I think Memphis is like a big small town. Everyone knows everyone, everyone knows your business. The small dating scene out there for white collar people is pretty much a group of people who knows everyone else. It's hard to find someone that you don't already know through someone, or who you don't already have some sort of 6 degrees of kevin bacon connection with.

It's been years since I've been in the dating scene (for which my husband is immensely glad!), but it seems everyone I run across in the dating sector is paired up with someone. This would tell me that something in the dating scene is working. Of course, being in the buckle of the Bible belt, it is fairly common for singles to meet up at church-type activities (if not church itself, then singles groups at churches.)

It seems to me that meeting people in Memphis would work the same way it does anywhere else.

The survey thing is incorrect too. "View" should not be an option.

but since you put "view" as an option, that skews the results. Right now "view" is the leading answer to the question

Seems to me back when I was in town people seemed to commit pretty early, particularly women, which reduced the pool for single guys in the 25-35 range. Has this changed?

I don't think this has changed; that's a pretty southern thing - get married early, start popping out kids at a young age.
