More questions to get some convo going....

NOT taking into consideration the quality of the actual team, what are the best sports games to attend in Memphis and why?

UM Tigers basketball
UM Tigers football
Grizzlies baksetball
Redbirds baseball
Riverkings hockey

Anything else?

Tough question!

I would have to vote for the Redbirds. Cheap, beautiful setting and lots of fun for the wife and kids to sit in left field grass.

Tigers basketball is good, too! Pure excitement and energy for the entire game, start to finish.

Grizzlies--too expensive, especially for a whole family.

Riverkings games are OK--pretty sad when only half of the arena is sold out.

U of M football gets me in the mood for real football teams--you know, ones that might actually win! Still a lot of fun, just not the best team to watch.

I agree that the Redbirds games are completely family-friendly. You can bring your young kids and lay out on a blanket in the bluff, or go with a group of adults and drink a ton of beer and eat BBQ nachos. It works for everyone. The games are long too, which can be a good thing if you want to show up late or leave early without missing half the game. They do a lot of promotions, like fireworks displays as well.

Default B-ball!!!

I get a little confused when people say the Grizzlies games are too expensive.....but Tiger's basketball is not!

Parking - costs exactly the same!!!!
FedEx Forum food - costs exactly the same!!!!
Tickets: believe it or not, when I tried to get Tigers season tickets this year, in roughly the same area where I sit for the Grizzlies, they were more per game than my own Grizzlies tickets!

Depending on how much of a seat snob one is, you can get Grizzlies tickets on any given game day for $5, $10 and on up. You don't have to sit in the grass and their game quality is as good as any other Memphis team not including the Tiger basketball team...

I am not discriminating in my sports taste, other than not caring to understand ice hockey. But I'll take some high scoring basketball any day!

I agree the Tigers vs. Grizz are about the same money, but I guess I just like college hoops better. Professional basketball is nothing like college ball. The game is very diiferent, and I don't like the pros nearly as much.

Plus, I went to Memphis and feel more of a connection and reason to cheer for the Tigers. Same can't be said of the Grizzlies. In fact, there is usually not much to cheer for watching those millionaires play, IMO!

Grizzlies games are expensive in relation to the value received when compared to a Tigers game.
