Hi,

I'm currently looking at an apartment at Island Park on mud island. I just wondered if anyone has heard anything good or bad about these apartments?

Thanks

I have not heard anything bad. Frankly, I haven't heard anything bad about any apts on the island, other than the fact that Riverset is sort of old and showing some wear. In terms of safety, the entire island is great.

It's just the reviews (Island Park Apartment Ratings, Reviews, Map, Rents, and other Memphis apartments for rent from ApartmentRatings.com) that put me off. Other option is Gayoso in downtown.. sacrafice scenic view + pool for staying in walking distance of bars.. hard choice!

Don't listen to those ratings. If they are 90% bad, that would mean something. But I have seen people leave terrible reviews based on complete lies, or on ONE incident that was random and not typical of the complex. When people are offended, they get online to tell the world about it. When people are happy, they go on their way without causing a scene. The "No's" seem to be from about 2 years ago, a couple were about a water leak problem (that has to be fixed by now). One was about rent going up (duh, that happens everywhere). If you have concerns, call the office and tell them what you've seen on that site (they will know exactly what you are talking about) and ask them to explain some of the issues you read about.

Gayoso is okay. Very small units. Can't open the windows. Parking in garages and then walk. It would inevitably be more expensive to live there, unless you can get a great deal or a smaller
