I've looked on the Commercial Appeal's website at houses for rent.

I came across two that sound too good to be true. I'm curious to see what the neighborhoods are like.

The first one is in the Winchester/Meddenhall area. The second is off of Harbert road.

What are your opinions as to the neighborhoods?

THANK you in advance!!

Winchester/Mendy not good.

Harbert is near my house. Mostly it's fine, but too far west is not good. What block is it on?

How do you know it's off Harbert if you don't know the block? What intersection is it?

You still might want to check out the area in Parkway Village.

It is an area in transition and I would not want to buy a house there, but for a short term rental it could be good or not so good depending on the specific location.

I was working on a house owned by a family member who was moving as she could no longer care for herself and spent quite a bit of time there.
It was in that area and the neighborhood it was in was very quiet, well kept and the neighbors were nice and looked out for each other.
I felt perfectly safe.

This house was a really nice little house.
I liked it a lot.
It sold for about $80,000.

Hi. Depends on what your demographic is. Schools an issue? Need to be close to downtown? What's your price range? Why rent a house instead of an apartment? Need a garage or a yard? DJ K

We dont have kids, so school isn't an issue. We need to be close to the Police Academy (w/in 20/30 mins). We have a dog so we thought a house with a yard would be nice.

Price range, right now is $800.
