Hi, today is my quit smoking day. I've heard that cranberry juice will help speed up the nicotine withdrawal process even if it intensifies the effects of the withdrawal. Does anyone have any tips for getting it out of my system asap? Thanks.

The best thing to do is to stay busy. Even after you pass the 72 hr. withdrawal mark, you'll still have psychological cravings that are as strong as the physical ones. You'll have to rebuild your entire system of habits.

Stay busy, drinks lots of water, take deep breaths, and get busy again.

This was key for me...

A craving lasts 13 seconds... *JUST GET THROUGH THOSE 13 SECONDS* and it's over. 13 seconds is not a long time... and before you know it, your thinking about something else....

Is it only 13 seconds? It seems longer somehow . . . .

Anyway~

Good Lord, I wish I had some wisdom. I smoked from age 15 till age 34. The reason I stopped smoking was because I became pregnant with my daughter. It has now been over 3 years since I've smoked and I still get urges.

I sincerely, wish you the best of luck! Even pregnant quitting smoking is was one of the hardest things I've had to endure.

Good for you! I quit 2 month ago, cold turkey. The only thing that kept me away from even thinking about cigs was staying busy, as mentioned before. So, i cleaned my house like a nutcase!! Also, i kept eating sunflower seeds, i love them things!! Smoking was more of a boredom sabstitute for me.
I went ahead and joined gym, going there every day now, and i don't even want to think about cigs.

Best wishes to you!

Change your habits. I quit cold turkey the first time and that laster about 8 months. After smoking again for a couple more years, I quit cold turkey and have been smoke free for many years. I recommend changing your habits. It's surprising how much of smoking is pyschological. Sunflower seeds help too. They give your mouth something to do and they are good for you.
