coming down to Mexico (areas, cities, place, humid)

Coming down to Mexico to experience the country for a while....I have a friend here. I have a choice between Guadalajara and Veracruz city......what city would be better in the sense of the people, nightlife, safety, friendly and outgoing people, a more memorable experience in general?

Tough one, very different cities. I don't think you could go wrong with either, both have plenty of nightlife, fun people around, and plenty of things to see and do to make for a memorable experience. GDL is a much larger city with a lot more "city" to it and it does have much more historical areas to explore. I'd say climate might be what decides it for you. Would you rather have a hot/humid climate or a warm, but not so humid place?
