Want to fly from Tijuana to Mexico City. There are several Mex carriers: Vivo Aerobus, Volaris, Interjet, AeroMexico. I know AeroMexico might be the best, but the price is also more expensive than the others.

What about the others? Any comments. It seems (I read some comments) that Mex carriers always cancel/reschedule the flights and would not even refund (poor customer service). Is it true?

Thanks

Volaris is the best in terms of quality and price.

You must read the terms and conditions when you buy your ticket, generally if you buy the lowest rate there is no refund, but you can change your day flight up to 4 hours before the flight.

I have flown Volaris and Viva Aerobus many times. I have never had cancellations. Their prices are similar usually. Usually we book by convenience of schedule. We have flown them out of GDL to many places in MX and a few in the US.

I've had two bad experiences with Volaris, one with a flight "cancellation" which I suspect was just overbooked and another with double charges on their website for which a refund was quite difficult to obtain.

I continue to use them because you just can't beat that price flying out of and into Tijuana.

Volaris is the cheapest, I have not had bad experiences with them but have heard there are problems with flight cancellations and problems with due refunds.

I just flew Tijuana-Mexico City $185 RT with Aeromexico, they give free drinks including alcohol. Search for deals, I use the Hopper app on my phone.

I just heard about Interjet from some online blog. Someone used it to go from Cuba to Mexico and said it cheap and good?

Depending on the time of year, one could get to CDMX on Volaris RT from about $120-$140 but Volaris will nickle and dime you with luggage and snacks/drinks on board. Prior to 2012, I remember snacks, drinks and alcohol were free on Volaris but those days are long gone.

Tijuana is the hub of Volaris, so you can have better prices with them. Interjet is good too but their flights from Tijuana are limited to less destinations.

Interjet has considerably more leg room, and they don't book the middle seat nearly as often.

Interjet has the best leg space and the service has been great every time I've used them. The flagship Aeromexico is competent and provides good service.

As others pointed out, Tijuana is a huge Volaris hub so probably you'll have tons of options with them.

Avoid Viva Aerobus, it is Mexico's Spirit Airlines... the rate will sure seem low but you'll have to pay for every little thing, from seat selection to overhead space... anything they aren't required to provide by law (water), they'll charge for.
