Hello y'all! I'm hoping someone could help me out with some information about a possible relocation to Mexico. I am a woman with a legally recognized marriage to another woman here in the US. She has dual citizenship in Mexico and the US.
Her mother is moving back to Mexico for retirement and my wife is looking into possible opportunities that she could work in Mexico (or telecommute for a US company) as she works in the IT field and has many opportunities that she could pursue.

I was hoping if someone could tell me how difficult it would be for me to move there? I don't have a college education or any sort of opportunities to work for an American company to bring in the $1250 USD per month that Mexico requires for someone living in Mexico to apply for permanent residency.

Could I be considered a dependent to my wife? Could she sponser me even if our marriage is only recognized in the capital (we would be living somewhere in Jalisco near her mother, not in the capital)?

Thank you in advance

Mexico recognizes same-sex marriage country wide.

Here's a link to my immigration lawyer's website:

You can apply for visas for your spouse (gay couples included) and children at the consulate at the same time or we can do it when you are here in Mexico once the primary applicant has their visa. Remember that in order to do this we will need birth / marriage certificates and apostilles (legalized copies for those from Canada or non Hague Convention countries).

Yes!

Mexico City is the best place for a LGBT, but Guadalajara is also good.
