Living in MEXICO CITY and having a good number of Mexican friends, (and Mexican wife) was able to visit many places that are not commonlly known or advertised. Chapultepec Park near central is great for kids. Ruinas de Tula (pyaramids) north of the city is worth visiting. Queretaro is known for its real old buildings. Puebla is known for having a CHURCH open every day of the year. (there are many). On the way to Veracruz on the north side of the highway you can see the evidence of a Astroid or meteor hitting Mexico 1000's of years ago. When shown this by a friend, it was like looking down from space as the evidence showed for miles. The city of Puebla shows a large influence of the Puebla Indians. The city also has the VW plant in Mexico. I was lucky to get a VIP tour of the plant via connection. Cuernavaca is beautiful to visit. City of ETERNAL SPRING. Temp. in the 60-70 all year round. Taxco is a old silver mineing town. It has a church built by Indians that is over 200 yrs old with 14 small alters within its interior. Close by is also the CAVERENS. (carlsbad of mexico). There is a large opening a little ways off the nearby hwy. A small fee to enter and walk deep inside. It is reported to have been a river in the past and contained water that flowed down to Acapulco and the ocean. There is more but space is a premium. Happy visiting, Stefhen

Default Southwest of Mexico city

Uruapan has wonderful springs and waterfalls - fun to play in.

Patzcuaro is amazing. Wish I could live there.
