No air pollution, it's water evaporation that occurs in the dry season. Now, Guadalajara about an hour away does have some air pollution as it sits in a bit of a bowl and has manufacturing with few controls.

I am fortunate to reside in a town with many Mexicans who travel, and give me advice on some areas. My neighbors from Guanajuato keep recommending it for Christmas.That would be an awesome way to spend the holidays.

Nayarit intrigues me, only the rainy season does not.
The only form of pollution that keeps me from being an ex-pat in Mexico is the unwarranted noise pollution. If and when they get a grip on that, let me know, and I'll move down there.
When I can't even get dental work in a clinic in Nogales, without someone with a loud stereo in their car, blasting it thru the clinic, I don't even want to take a vacation down there anymore.
