Mexican born and raised; have lived in Canada for a long long time (decades). My wife and I are beginning to plan our return in 1-2 years from now as a family. I'm looking for your feedback regarding: quality of life, cost of life, safety (in general terms), universities, ease of movement around the city, rent prices for a 3-4 bedroom house in a middle-class neighbourhood, etc. We're specifically interested in Hermosillo or Queretaro (have lived in Sonora before), but other suggestions are welcome. ¡Gracias!
Why would anyone ever choose Hermosillo unless there was a job or family reasons? Queretaro is a good size of not too big or too small, has a nice mix of old and new, is close to other cities and places of interest, and of course has that alluring central highlands climate. Hermosillo has hell on earth 4-5 months of the year and almost no buildings more than 50 years old. Tough choice...
