To be honest, some of the border towns are having problems, but maybe you could fly to somewhere further in where bullets aren't flying.

It's only responsible to make sure people realize some of the dangers. One border town in particular is well over 2000 murders for this year, children are being gunned down -- and to tell people that everything is perfectly fine is absurd.

People should do whatever they want to do -- but at least be informed before you naively go wandering about in places you aren't familiar:

BBC NEWS | Americas | Mexico's Juarez on path to anarchy

Watch the bottom video and realize the blood all over that SUV is that of a 7 year old child.

For people to insist that all is fine and that two children chased and gunned down by hitmen in a week is just normal, is in the least irresponsible.

I've been getting some dental work done for over 2 years at another Texas border town....that now may not be so safe. However, we've been hearing that Nuevo Progreso is still relatively safe, so now I would like to go down there and finish up my dental work, but there are about 90-100 dentists listed there online. Would you have any recommendations for a particular dentist there?

Just wondered if, in your research, you had ever heard about any particular dentists in Nuevo Progreso? Thanks.

Hello; There is a guy by the name of Louis: Speaks English and will meet you right after you cross the border bridge. Email him at luisreferral at yahoo dot com.mx - nicest guy in town. His services are free-he gets cut from the dentist. Louis knows them all and will recommend the specialist you need.
