Jarritos is not only safe to drink, but it is also delicious. But it is as unhealthy as drinking any soda... Whenever I got sick in Mexico, I was not on the toilet screaming, "Damn you jarritos"... I was more cursing the delicious roadside tacos and quesadillas.

Man... I miss Mexico city quesadillas... ive so far had NOTHING that compares to what I had in D.F. (off topic I know)

Actually, the beer is worse than Jarritos as far as the pancreas is concerned. I wonder why you can't get "Superior" in this part of the U.S.?

When living in Mexico City drank "Jarritos" Pina all the time and thought it was non-carbonated being that it was never like coke or pepsi.

Well now being in Baja the other day looked at a 1-1/2 ltr of Jarritos and read the ingredients...low and behold it was carbonated. I was wrong in my original assumption but still not as bad as coke and pepsi as I could drink a small bottle without belching from the carbonation.

On the side did feel that the coca cola was sweeter in Mexico then that bottled in the US. Just my personal opinion for what it's worth.

Due to the water and altitude many of the residents drink Soda (soft drinks) at room temp so to speak without the need for ice or refrigeration as we do in the US.

I have had Jarritos. It is just a sweet soft-drink albeit in some interesting flavors.

I have found Colorado water to be hit-or-miss. It really depends on the water source and Colorado gets its water from multiple sources, some a lot better than others. Just last year there was a water-born salmonella outbreak in Alamosa, Co that sickened over a thousand people. Colorado, in general, lags behind much of the nation both in how many polluting chemicals they test for. Also, in many cities and towns in the state, the levels of pollution are high mainly from the state's mining legacy which has allowed toxic tailings to contaminate ground water resources in much of the state.

I think in moderation - like one or two a day a Corona or other beer might be healthier than soft drinks in the same amount. The jolt of sugar wears out the pancreas after years of abuse and sends the insulin levels on a rollercoast. Plus beer has some Vitamin Bs and other nutrition from the grains, it's more natural. Better for the teeth too.
