My wife and I just came back from Mexico, flying back to Chicago from Guadalajara. We actually spent our time in Michoacan (a small town called Yurecuaro), no tourists (and no English) I'm american, my wife is Mexican. The language is no problem for her, but I am learning. We are considering moving there for the winter months. We didn't have nearly enough time to enjoy Guadalajara, but it is a beautiful city, and I would have loved to spend more time there. If we go back this winter, which we plan to, I want to take a few days and enjoy what it has to offer.
I was born in Mexico City, but I lived my first nine years in Guadalajara; I don't remember if there were a lot of thunderstorms, but I do remember there were lots of windy rainstorms, and many of the frail eucalyptus trees that abound in the city would frequently fall. Maybe that’s what he’s referring to.
I really liked the Tlaquepaque district in Guadalajara, but thanks a ton for sharing these pictures of the many new and modern structures...I hardly saw ANY of this stuff in my two passes through the city!
Anyway, I think "Europe" is a definite stretch (not that europe is that nice!)..
Santiago Chile is quite a bit more advanced, and I would say it has a brighter future then Guadalajara.. but it's nice to hear Mexico is improving, I still have to check out Monterrey still, I hear it is very nice as well..
Maybe I'll have to take a detour over there on my way back from Oaxaca this May...
What i like the most is the international cultural festivals, the concerts, the museums and malls and the people who are preety and open mind. yeah in fact its like the little europe in Mexico.
the people of guadalajara are of closed mind and they do not have anything of European, they are racially mixed, you do not lie raveonpragha.
That's like looking at new yrok if so much of the rest of the country was a corrupt dessert. My sister-in-laws' father recently died which is the last of her family in mexico and she says she will never go back again because of the corruption that is in very part of the society.
I have driven in may places in the world - New York, L.A., Tel-Aviv, Mexico City, Paris etc., and Guadalajara drives me crazy. For some reason I can never find my way there.

Cuase it really seems you really don't know nothing about reality in Mexico.

You should go to San Luis or Monterrey Pro there are a lot of white cities in Mx.
I've been to mostly all the Northern states, I noticed that they speak differently-- entirely different accent.
