I'm checking out a job in Miramar and I hope it turns out. If it does, my wife and I would be looking for a suitable place to move to with three small children - someplace where we wouldn't have to be looking over our shoulders every time we went outside, if you know what I mean. It would also be nice to be near the Metrorail, as it would cut down on driving costs/hassles.

We would almost certainly be renting at first - my expected salary would be around $55k/yr. I don't know what home prices have done in Miami lately, but if we looked for a home, it would have to be under, say, $160k. So I don't know what we'd get for that in Miami, particularly in a safe area.

Metrorail is useless if you are gonna be working in Miramar
Miramar is in Broward you should really consider living there if you have children and want a short commute. 160k doesn't go very far in Broward or Northern Miami.

Like Pinc3ss said the metrorail is going to be useless if you are working in Miramar. I would suggest looking into the surrounding areas of Miramar for places to live.
