It's only meant for 1-4 people.

It's personal meaning you don't have to share the space with anyone unless you want to. It's like driving a car, but with no traffic, no stoplights, no accidents, no drunk drivers, no muss, no fuss. Say I wanted to Government Center from Coconut Grove. Instead of having to stop at Vizcaya and Brickell like you do with Metrorail, you simply go non-stop, without having to ride with others, from Coconut Grove to Government Center.

Yeah, but you go nonstop at about 12 mph (Wikipedia search PRT), about the average speed of a city transit bus. Of course, you wouldn't have to wait as long for it.

IMHO, it's fine for getting around a compact area such as a business district or an airport; Heathrow has this. Perhaps viable for the urban core (say, Design District to lower Brickell), but I don't think it would work as well for longer distances along a single corridor (e.g., up Biscayne Blvd. to Broward). For that, "group rapid transit" (GRT) would be more suited.

I absolutely agree that this isn't for long hauls. However, going from say the beach to downtown, or downtown to Little Havana or Coral Gables, or Coral Gables to South Miami, etc. is what it would be good for.

It would be great to be able to get on in Coral Gables and go directly, non-stop to Miami Beach or Downtown.

These cars go 25 MPH which doesn't seem too speedy, but remember there's no traffic to contend with, no stoplights, etc.

I don't see why it wouldn't be similar, even in NJ.

It it's $129M in CA, I can't imagine it being too much more for other places.

The snow removal pod is really neat looking, too

Each state has a different amount of Rules and Construction specs. Up here we need to build things to withstand Hurricanes , Blizzards , Heat and extreme cold.....down there its only the heat and hurricanes which when you look at it , isn't that bad.
