I recently graduated from college and got a job offer in Miami and am considering accepting and moving to the area. I'm a 22 year-old, Caucasian female with a conversational level of Spanish speaking. I've been to Miami a few times, and I'm concerned that I may not fit in with the culture there. I know the population is predominately Latin American, which can be intimidating for someone moving to big city and having no friends. Are people in Miami generally friendly and looking to expand their group of friends, or would I be better off meeting people who also have moved to the area? What neighborhoods or parts of town would you recommend living in given my age? I love the beach, outdoors, going out, and just having a good time. Are there a lot of young professionals in the Miami area? I know a lot of the threads talk about the lack of professionalism, should I believe this? Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

You will find plenty of people wanting to make friends, but generally it's for networking purposes.

You'll want to live in a nice part of downtown I'd imagine, or somewhere nice with quick access to the "scene" on Brickell. This is only what I've been told by people around your age!

Your opinion of professionalism depends on where you've worked before.
